3D Artist Christmas Blog Hop

Christmas 3D item from Artiste Blog Hop

Welcome to our December Blog Hop featuring any 3D item from our exclusive Artiste Cricut Cartridge. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created a 3D item of their choice from the Artiste, we were told it could be anything as long as it was a Christmas theme.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Darla at Caution: Crafting is Contagious. If you came from Brae's Blog then you are in the right place.

We were working on a craft/bake sale table, and absolutely love the milk box, it makes the perfect roof top, and as always that gives way to too many ideas.  We needed a cute way to sell cookies and each of these houses hold a half dozen perfectly.  So we thought we would take it further, lets see what a village of milk box cuts further embellished with roofs, windows and doors would look like as a village.....and now we see.  We can't wait to put more detail in future displays but as a starter this turned out.

 Materials Used:
Artiste Cartridge
Super Hero Paper Pack
Kraft cardstock
Believe Paper Pack
Colonial White cardstock

If you came from:

Sheri's blog: Sheri Says Just Scrap It

Then you are in the right place!

In our house Lego building is the youngest's favorite past time.  Everything is about building scenes, so he gave us inspiration. Why not give him the opportunity to open a box a day and build a traditional Christmas scene while enjoying a daily chocolate treat. Note for shopping list, we must pick up some Hershey's Kisses to further stuff the daily boxes. The above picture is how the scene starts on December 1st. The following is after each box has been emptied and placed in its spot.

A closer look is below, the entire scene is a paper quilled creation, right down to the milk & cookies for Santa. I know the kids are going to enjoy this as much as we did making it. Nice challenge!

Quilled Christmas Snowflakes & Medallions!!!!

We took a break from bookmarks....yeah!!!!  Don't get us wrong, we like to do these but the goal is still a long way off.  We also hope that snow is a long way off as well, but we like our Christmas Ornament Series.  Can't wait to see an entire tree done with just lights and hand cut, hand made, hand quilled paper ornaments.  Stay tuned....its coming soon to a blog near you!  We have the lights on the counter, and hundreds of quilled circles already done.  Now its time to see what else we can finalize.  These Snowflake/Medallion Sets are available with other items in our Etsy Store.  Remember to visit our shop.

Run for the cure!!!!!!!

Run for the Cure time again!!!  To help the kids increase the pledges and as one is running the event this year we decided since the bookmark corners are never ending anyway, why not make some especially for the run.  So after a day or so of productivity we have a good bunch of Pink Ribbon Bookmarks.  We even stamped Thank You in pink on the back, we all approve, the participants should appreciate the gesture for sure!  So everyone pledge, lets help fund the cure.

More Bookmarks!!!!

We continue to work on bookmarks for the local school library's.  This is turning into more of a challenge then expected.  The goal is 300-400, pretty lofty given the time to construct each one by hand but we are not defeated yet.  There are too many designs to try so its a good opportunity to try different cuttlebug images and different patterns out together.  Some work great, others well, they didn't make it past quality control.

Hand Crafted Scrapbook Corner Bookmarks

For the past few days we have been working on Scrapbook Corner Bookmarks.  Timely item given its almost time for school to go back in for another year (can we say YEAH!!!!).  Teachers and students will hopefully find this very useful.  We are working on a few sets to donate to local school library's.  With any luck they will sell them or offer for free with the option to donate.  I am sure all library's could use donations to help increase shelf volume as well as an extra offering for literacy nights.  We hope to have enough to made so it can have an impact for them.  As avid readers we know the use of a good strong bookmark, to have it custom made with the extra touch makes it more special.  It is a nice addition to our currently growing Etsy shop.

Star light star bright....

So, I thought I would try my hand at making some Christmas ornaments using the Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy, (exclusive through CTMH) and I cut some star shapes.

The stars by themselves are great, but as I started gluing them together it just wasn't looking right.

So, there they are, little star ornaments.  I think they are cute, but not what I was aiming for.  So I looked through the cutting guide and found another star that I liked much more.  If you want to see the finished product you can find them in my Etsy Shop along with the other 2 matching ornaments, and my other designs.

Yes, more Design's by Danielle!!!

So, Danielle has been working on a few projects as you can see.  She is experimenting with stamping, ink markers, pastels, ect.  She will be releasing some every day packs soon I am sure.  As always, stay tuned for more new releases.

Is it Christmas yet?

It's a Critter Christmas!  These are a few designs we are working on.  They include heat embossing on the stamped images and flocking is used on the accessorized items like scarves, hats, ect.  Again, we are open for comments and suggestions on our test designs.  Let us know what you think looks good or critique to your hearts content.  We will not take offense, a little constructive criticism is not a bad thing.  So feel free!

Still working on Floral Art

So, we continue on the floral kick.  We are including heat embossing on this series with the hand quilling.  The flower centers are also heat embossed in the same color as the stamped decoration.  As this was a test we have a few others to come with this same style.  Stay tuned.

Thursday, August 16, 2012

Now we are off and running!  The first floral series is ready and the
upcoming possibilities are endless.  We are thinking of incorporating
some swirly stamping/embossing on some of the next ones so stay
tuned for sure.  But the best part of today, we even have a bit better
hand on photography....amazing! Can't wait to see what comes next...

Introducing the Quilled Christmas Series

Finally, and honestly I am not sure what took longer, the debates on
design or actually twirling the coils and making the cards.  But we are
pleased with the results.  Of course, as we all know the only thing
constant is change, this will likely be improved even more over time....
only time will tell.

But to begin with, each of these Quilled coils are hand cut, hand
curled, and hand glued.  All paper is acid free and scrapbook friendly.
We are leaving them blank for now so the buyer can fill with their
own personalized message but we think offering the option of a
stamped greeting would be a possible idea....messaging, just one more
debate.

Please contact us for further info, this is a customizable set as you can
see so just let us know what you would like and we can see what we
can come up with.
